Remy Limagne of the Jura FFS is organising the 5th and final clean-up and re-rigging trip of the Gouffre Berger this summer. Remy was one of the key French proof readers of the award winning Gouffre Berger book.

The expedition dates are from the 1st to the 20th August and applications for inclusion on the trip need to be in by the 30th March. A small contribution of 15 Euro towards ropes is required and members of the trip will get preferential rates for camping at Les Buissonets in Meaudre, the expedition HQ for the duration of the trip.

Application forms for the trip can be found at the following link;

http://cds39.ffspeleo.fr/rdv/rdv2016/B16/register/EN-berger2016_clubs.pdf

The dates have been chosen to coincide with the 60th anniversary of reaching the bottom on the 12th August 1956.

Unfortunately the dates also coincide with Eurospeleo 2016.

A sizeable group from the UK will be joining this years expedition and anyone else is invited to come along and join us for part or all of the trip.

2012, the first year of these trips was very well attended with over 200 cavers entering the Berger system. It is hoped this years trip will be of a similar scale.

It is hoped the company Expe will once again support the expedition with significant discounts available for expedition members. It is also hoped that Petzl will be supporting this years trip. Fernand Petzl led the 1956 trip.

If you haven't bought your copy of the Gouffre Berger book, which as of last week has now donated ?14K to the GPF and ?3K to the Association Nicola, you can get hold of a copy from the website;

Hope to see you in August.
