Browns Folly Quarry / Mine - ongoing deliberate destruction

That picture is curious, the presence of bottles and Brians name on the wall shows it was taken before it was discovered by Brian, who as Cavemonkey says practically caught them in the act, not giving anyone else much time to discover and photograph it, apart from those that did it?

Browns Folly Quarry / Mine - ongoing deliberate destruction

Todcaver, I don't know if anyone's been reported for false imprisonment, do we even know if anyone has been falsely imprisoned? If it did happen do we know who actually did it? You seem to know alot about it so maybe you can fill in the blanks for the rest of us.

Browns Folly Quarry / Mine - ongoing deliberate destruction

I have no reason to disbelieve you found muddy hole blocked, so can accept that as fact, however, who blocked it would be pure conjecture, that's my point.

Browns Folly Quarry / Mine - ongoing deliberate destruction

I have no reason to believe you don't own the watch Roy, however if you asked me to wire you some money in exchange for it I'd definitely want to see it first! How about if someone else told me you owned the watch, and I went around telling everyone "Roy fellows owns this rare watch" then you...

Browns Folly Quarry / Mine - ongoing deliberate destruction

Well I had quite an interesting conversation with an AWT volunteer yesterday,  regarding the situation at browns folly, during which they stated they do infact have part ownership of the underground space, certainly something I've not heard before. Roy, you say there's certain facts only a few...

Browns Folly Quarry / Mine - ongoing deliberate destruction

It's all very well saying seal it for a generation, but some of us locals visit quite frequently, why should we lose something we enjoy and treasure, because a few tossers can't behave themselves?

rubbish fires on expeditions instead of cleaning up after themselves

I'd agree that it's a very reckless thing to do, not just because the heat can cause collapse, but depending on the ventilation, smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide could be a problem. It would also soot the Cave and it's features, and I doubt the bats would like it either.

    springfield/entry hill quarry

I'd say it's a bat hibunculum judging by the door and the concrete work, probably not much to see. The fence is just to stop you getting close to the unstable cliff face. All the bricked up bits are natural rift features I think.

    springfield/entry hill quarry

It was the open workings that were filled with rubble, Springfield was one of the largest, if not the largest open quarry in bath. I believe the door you are referring to would connect with some filled workings in the council depot on the other side of the road?
