Anyone else think this is just slightly too cool to give to the military?

As cool as a one bar electric fire running for 9 hrs.

Or an average power station running for 1/30 second.

Or burning a litre of petrol or a kilogram of anthracite.

Or half a microgram of plutonium.

Or a small barrel of gunpowder.

Sounds like a vast machine to do very little.

An interesting device with many other potential applications; launch systems for satellites either in orbit or on low-gravity bodies.
The advantage is that the 'propellant' does not need to be carried - electricity can be got from the sun - as much as you want if you are willing to wait for it to accummulate.
