Somebody on here mentioned that crags were never banned to climbers. In the late
60s some crags near Barnsley were discover by the climbers as a good spot to go.
The landowner soon put a stop to this by covering the holds with  Axel Grease and
as far as I know they still remain unclimbable  !

There not bad now, theres a few big pockets that still seem fresh even though its so old. Must have been good stuff!

Gower and SE Wales climbing guide 1991, p.299: "Quakers Yard. Several climbs have been recorded here, but its proximity to the railway line and the presence of an unfriendly householder make it a 'no go area'. The lower part of the cliff has been smeared with axle grease and a 100 lb anvil hangs like a sword of Damocles over a groove line which might have proved the crags main attraction."

Would the website publish, if provided with one, a Reflections piece supporting the Crow access point of view?

you would have to go and ask them that, as its doubtful any of them can reply to you here  :coffee:

Yes they could reply here  :)

The answer to the question posed by Robin is, yes, the site will publish anything that is deemed publishable under the current law, and of course it really ought to relate to caving or mine-exploration. If you think anything published requires a response or an alternative opinion, the onus is on you to write it, keep it decent, and submit it. The door is always open.

In fact an alternative view would be welcomed. I, for one, do not want to read just one side> I want to hear both sides so that I can make an informed choice.

Darkness Below are still waiting.

There have been several posts berating anyone that doesn't follow uncritically the Pro-CRoW line, why not try to put forward a reasoned counterblast to the DB article?

Sorry Roy. Should have posted the contact page link for you. Here you go. http://darknessbelow.co.uk/?page_id=106
But I'll sort out the update using AditNow info anyway.
