a theory.....

Having recently done the Rods to Bath trip it was interesting seeing the Fosil streamway passage at the bottom of Bath swallet.

If the connection between all the caves did exist, what would you expect the passage to look like along its length.

Has anyone dug the opposite side of Avelines

The theory has been significantly modified since we produced the provisional survey of Bath/Rods.  The fossil phreatic passage common to both caves clearly does not align with Avelines.  The very interesting thing is that the passage aligns very precisely with Sidcot/Goathurch.....

Andy, what do you mean by "aligns"? Not having seen your survey, I obviously do not know, but would it be aligning with West Twin Brook valley rather than with the caves as such?
