All us retro-swimmers will be pleased to know that the poster of rules is available to buy on eBay, of course. That petting still looks pretty harmless, from what I can see ;)

Yes, we had that exact sign up at our school pool, from what I remember there weren't many swimming lessons that didn't include someone committing every transgression from the list, except maybe smoking.

AND I bet, I am not the only one that had some of the early googles to be able to see women in bikinis ( they were so daring in those days ) under the water  :halo: ;)

They never had 'Don't Shit In The Pool' on the poster, and several pupils did do just that, cancelling our lesson more than once, so maybe current versions DO feature it, complete with a strained-face cartoon guy. I remember seeing one of these special items, lying at the bottom, with a brown cloud around it like some expiring submarine. And we knew who'd done it, and it was a girl. Scandal. Imagine how much water they had to get empty just to get to it. Unless they had the best free-diving pearl-fisher in Rotherham handy, who could swim down and scoop it up in his special poop-net, and nothing more was said about it - just bung in a crate of Domestos.

Happy Days

Last time I was in a pool was many years ago when first learning to dive and I can remember seeing a little white Manta Ray lying on the bottom ( use your imagination guys ) , never been in one since  :yucky:
