I brought one off ebay a while ago. The luxon has a good beam and the 3 leds are well positioned. The Luxon isnt driven very hard, no proper heatsink so its around the same brightness as the petzl myo, I seam to remember prefering the fishing light beam to the myo as some side light was given, also the light could be focused or defocused by turning the head peace. The battery box had an o-ring with tight fitting clasp.

The downside, within a few mins of using the thing the bit that allows you to adjust the angle broke and it flopped about. The headpeace I would say is water resistant not waterproof I would not use it in swildons. Its unregulated so you get an 1hr and a bit then dimmer and dimmer light.

The advert claimed it was a side emitting luxeon (they seam to be hard to get hold off) but it wasnt.

Finally I transfered the 3watt luxeon (desoldering required) and put it in an oldham headset were it would work perfectly. The luxeon is installed in a normal push builb size mount. The 3 LEDs I twisted together and used as the pilot in the oldham headset. The only problem not being a side emitter I didnt get a beam so brought a collimeter (spelling?) lense and behold it fitted with the glass holding it in. It was a fine lamp till I broke it.

I got one from a mate who got a bunch of them off ebay for a tenner each - the beams pretty gd for that price. gave me gd light round Cwmorthin, but as DP mentioned, even with tightening, the pivot on the head soon loosens & you find it pointing at your feet.
