Anyone willing to split a 200m rope (100 me, 100 you?)

I need a 100m semi static rope (not 2 ropes knotted) for a project I have in mind.

I've used the LSK 10.5 made by Southern Ropes (from this seller before, 60m) and they're reassuringly chunky and reasonable wearing, nothing fancy, but a little bit slow moving in a new style stop. I do find they shrink a little bit more, maybe up to 7% in my experience in first wet/dry cycles (remeasured a 60m recently, and split it into a 40m and a 16m which is 4m/60m shrinkage). Thinking it'd be good for diggers' commuter rope?

Is anyone interested in going halves with me with 100m? (I'd exactly halve the rope I get, so length is approx) including me sending it to UK mainland address via parcel force. I'd be looking for 100m for £100 (Inc post)

Someone could get a bargain....

BARGAIN!!! Just received brand new 200m spool, semi static 10.5mm (conforms to EN1891:1998 for Industrial Rope Access) Response LSK. This is not some Chinese washing line. I've used same rope before, it's robust stuff, Looking to sell remaining 100m either as a single 100 or 2 x 50m at 90p/metre. Who wants some??

10.5mm is a bit old fashioned ;-)
Yes, but it comes in very handy if you might have sub optimal rigging options like in a mine or artificial structure, or for that matter for fixed ropes and commuting. Compared to say Petzl club (10mm), which is already a thicker option, it's a bit more robust. Wouldn't be ideal for lightweight sporting use for sure!
And at 90p metre!

Hopefully they have improved their QA process and record keeping. We had loads of the stuff at the rescue team for a few years but lost some of the paperwork. Southern Ropes were not able to tell us the date of manufacture of the reels even when we provided the serial numbers. That's a major red flag for a manufacturer, as they have to keep records for things like that. We had a couple of reels that they couldn't identify at all in the end (despite it all being purchased direct from them). We scrapped about 1.5km of the stuff over the next few months and bought Petzl 10.5mm to replace it. As a physical thing, Southern LSK is fine and handles well, and I never felt any issues using it for SRT or hauling ops, but on a trust in the manufacturer level it failed. It also turns out it only got a 5 year working life too which, for us, eliminated any savings over a more premium 10 year rope like a Petzl or Beal.
Sorry, not here deliberately to rain on your parade, but couldn't scroll past without adding our experience with the rope so others can make an informed choice in future. This was all 3-4 years ago, so hopefully they have upped their game now.

90p is a bargain. What are collecting options?
N.E. London/Essex border (what a terrible place for mines and caves) or sent via post office FoC if you get the 100m or £5 postage if you just want 50m

I'm not totally surprised, I'm more than happy with their rope in the past albeit a bit chunky/industrial, but this is budget. I don't know that it's possible to get more budget and still be unquestionably "real" rope. You could pay more than that for "Chinese Washing Line".

On the basis of budget I think it's a winner in terms of bang for buck. I'm not recommending it for lightweight cutting edge (hopefully not literally!) sporting trips. And despite the fact it's aimed at roped access I don't recommend for rescue/professional use due to paperwork. For example I can lookup their safety certifications are genuine... but I don't have a certificate of conformity with the spool (for record keeping). For my use, that's not relevant.

Interesting background though, shame you scrapped all that rope, don't lose certificates!
