Totally bewildered. Where did I mentioned balanced debating, or claims of being whiter than white, or that my feelings were hurt etc.? Is this thread being mixed up with another one somewhere? Seems to me (and probably everyone else) that you're using thinly veiled (if it's veiled at all) aggression tactics in an attempt to bulldoze a topic the way you want it to go. It would be easy to agree with your self-description "nasty", methinks. PS, not anti, me; neutral/centre more like.

As you insist on editing after the Mods have asked you to play nicely - I'm only nasty and aggressive with those who try to play dirty games. You are one of those, with your sock accounts and pretence at neutrality. If I make a threat, it's not veiled at all, I'm not shy.

I think the deadline of the vote must be quite soon.

Just deviating slightly, is the colour of the exclamation marks in the moderators comment an indicator of their increasing wish for us to keep on topic.

Blue: all fine, just a gentle reminder
Yellow: come on now...
Is there a red one?  :chair: :spank:

Indeed. You appear to be a bully*. Plain and simple. Will you prevail?

* It appears to be something of a new phase in British Caving, by the by, so isn't exactly out of place nowadays.

Excuse the ignorance but I have a simple question: What is the vote for or about?  I've had an email saying 'vote' which is nice.
Seen so much rubbish and in fighting spouted I no longer have a clue what it's all about.  What ever it is all about seems diluted by bonkers erudition of assorted garbage.
So I'm probably not going to vote, as there is no point in voting either way for something unintelligible.  If it leads to all the UK caves being filled with concrete, or sold to North Korea for nuke storage, or turned into chav outreach centres, I'm now past caring either way.  At least the Cornish hacksaw brigade seem to have a coherent access manifesto, even if I do not agree with it at all.
So please: grow up,wake up, smell the coffee, stop throwing bat effluent, see the big picture (and various other cliches), and stop screwing up caving.

I hear someone that agrees with the use of the red exclamation mark :D

I think in some races they use a black flag to ban people, please could we have a black exclamation mark when you park them on the naughty step for a few days.

If all the debate is too frustrating, I would suggest basing your decision on the information provided with the ballot. I think it explains the rationale behind each of the proposals put forward at the AGM relatively succinctly, from which you can choose whether you agree or disagree with each proposed change and vote accordingly.

As I understand it, all 4 proposal justifications could roughly be put under the umbrella of avoiding current/potential problems arising from the current wording of the BCA constitution.

Oh and a simplification of the vote copied vebatim from a source who wont care i'm copying.

Prop 1 - "..." For - Removes the clause used by the no-CRoW camp which has been used to stop the BCA activity pursuing the task that it's members voted for in the last ballot. A yes vote allows BCA to campaign for cave access under CRoW or clarify the law without hindrance. There is no place for a clause in a constitution that ignores the law of the land or is simply irrelevant. "..."
Prop 2 For - Allows simplification of BCA officer appointments by using a simple majority vote instead of a 2 house vote system.
Prop 3 For - Removes barrier to email voting and online voting in future saving thousands (post vote still available for those who opt out of online).
Prop 4 For - As above.

I've redacted information i see as unnecessary "..."

Nothing in this process has been difficult or confusing for me. As shown above, it's all pretty straightforward, and all the arguing in the world doesn't alter that - just don't read it, or if you do read it, don't take it seriously. It's all part of the fun of being human.

The last ballot enquiry was made at 8.22 this morning.  Thankfully the ballot is now closed so over to the Returning Officer to count the returns.
