There was once a book "How to win friends and influence people"

An alternative would be "How to loose friends and upset people"

who are the big shots which you refer to?
"The likes of Mullan, Brocklebank and Burgess" and have they not got the backbone to answer their side of the story (or deny involvement) of what they've been up to? [if anything]

Please note that I did not quote any names in my post and, in any case, I do not even know two of those mentioned by name.  Someone has jumped to conclusions and come up with the wrong names.  My apologies to those three named.

I do know who was originally responsible for the "dirty war" and others do too, but I have no intention of naming him on a public forum.  In any case, AFAIK he does not read or post to UKcaving.

Talk (elsewhere) of throwing people out of BCA because they disagree with its policies is nonsense!  If you disagree, then you should engage and try to change what you don't like.

The issue is, we have engaged and participated, voted etc. But still the old guard are having it their way as we speak.

That's why so many people are disillusioned. We voted for change, and it's not happening and seems incredibly unlikely to happen.  I suspect griping on a web forum has had about the same effect on things as actually getting involved in them, given the current state of play.

I never suggested throwing people out because they didn't agree with policies, however if they are actively undermining what has been democratically decided, ie working against the organisation, then I think expulsion should be considered.

We voted then heard nowt for ages, what's the point? These threads are making the whole thing sound like a shit game of thrones

Not all of us can afford to go down south to listen to wizened blokes dick measuring over semantics

Give us proxy votes and start live streaming the meetings! (Or at least release an audio recording immediately afterwards)
