Bored cavers seek inspiration

Hi,

I'm trying to find a place to organise a caving holiday next year for a rapidly aging crowd off cavers.

I want "holiday" caving, you know, big passages, streamways, some SRT, short walk-ins, nice weather etc. etc. We don't want huge walk-ins, 600m deep nastiness full of ice and dodgey belays (again)

We've "done" France - or think we have - Ardche, Vercors, Arbas, Jura, Chartruese, etc. , the "normal"areas, and are looking for something new. Maybe Sardina, Italy, Austria. We've done Slovenia too..

Who has a good idea, maybe a link or two...?

Have you thought of the US? There is plenty of the stuff you are after in various places over there, West Virginia for example.

All you need is biometric passports and no strange accents.

The Orpheus CC had a trip to Thailand exactly 12 months ago - highly reommended!

We spent the first week in very cheap accomodation next to the beach in the South (with a bit of caving.cave spotting) and then moved to the North for a fortnight staying with local villagers and sureveying known caves in a National Park plus exporing some new stuff. Standard caving gear being Ron Hills/thermal shirt/wellies/gloves in 70+ degree farenheight water in huge river caves and kilometres of passage...

Paul, I have some excellent surveys of cave in Thailand on my website www.cavesurveys.com, would you like to advertise yours on there as well?

My club had some excellent trips to the Czech caves years ago, and I am thinking of Romania for next summer....

I tried organizing the same type of trip for the same type of companions, but couldn't get anyone interested even then... :( I had in mind something in the south Pacific or Caribbean. But I hear Jamaica is a bit dodgy these days.

Generally we Canadians consider Britain fits the bill for easy "holiday" caving
