I suggest those discussing acts of criminal damage on an open forum strongly consider arming themselves with knowledge of the offence "Conspiracy to commit criminal damage".

Such an offence has almost certainly been committed above.  It's an indictable offence and so heads straight to crown court.

Take it from me, you can do without the hassle.

Chances of a copper visiting someone unless they outright state they have damaged the lid/lock/whatever at site X/Y/Z. Slim to none.
Chances of aforementioned unlikely visit turning into an arrest? I reckon we're firmly in "5 numbers on the lottery" territory here.
Chances of the CPS bothering to push that initial arrest/charge by the custody sergeant? Pretty much non-existent.
Chances of anyone in this thread removing a lock/gate without authorisation? I reckon about the same.

Criminal conspiracy cannot exist without the intent to commit the criminal act which is the subject of the alleged conspiracy, and the burden would lie on the prosecution to prove an intent.

So feel free to discuss the Gunpowder Plot freely.

Nothing in the UK goes "straight to Crown Court" even murder. Everything goes before magistrates initially although it is merely routine in the case of serious crimes.
