Bru - sad loss

My friend, caving and climbing partner, workmate and all- round good bloke Bruce Blagden sadly passed away last week after a long battle with cancer.
I can't find the words to express how sad and angry I am at this cruel illness which will probably affect us all in some way or another and has taken away one of life's nicest guys.
Mendip will be  a poorer place without him.

I'll always remember Bruce for his unfailing cheerfulness and being willing to get stuck into anything, whether it be carrying ridiculously heavy loads up crags, or plunging headfirst into shitty puddles.. I still cant believe hes gone and I am utterly gutted.

We had many adventures with Bru in the heady days of the SCG around 2007-10 and there are loads of write ups of our jolly missions; a great technician, can-do smiley chap, "nails", and a gentleman; he will be long remembered as an experienced and capable caver and a good friend.

I recall seeing Bru's name on trip reports, its obvious he has been a popular well liked guy.

I am sorry for your loss.

When we lose an adventure buddie, it leaves a void that is impossible to fill, because the  friendship and shared experiences have been so intensive, however its better to have lived than never lived at all.

Our memory is a treasure house, and I'm sure there's some great stuff in there.

Sorry for your loss

Yes I'm very sorry to hear about Bru. I've lost 3 caving friends in the last 12 months or so.

Bru a true gentleman Caving Buddy.

Thankfully my fantastic memories will last & every time I do Stoke Lane I'll be thinking of him.

RIP a wonderful friend
