Burrington inn planning application

They don't own the car park by the toilets or the other massive layby other side of avelines hole

I know this is a caving forum, but surely we should all give it a bit more thought than "will i stil be able to park to go caving?" My biggest concern is the increased recreational pressure on this special place. I wouldn't object to a farm shop and small scale cafe, but the scale of this proposal and the future scope for expanding commercial adventure activities concerns me. I see that there are also concerns about effects on ground water, if you read the consultation responses

You mean more people enjoying the area that you enjoy?
Is there no limit to the number of visitors to any given area that could be considered harmful? In planning terms there is a reason that Recreational Disturbance Avoidance and Mitigation Strategies (RAMS) are required for development in designated sensitive areas like the Mendips..These places are enjoyable and afford special protections exactly because of how they are. It is that that which should be protected, it's not about me wanting it all to myself.
