Camp site

Can any one recommend a good cheap camp site in North Yorkshire  that wont be booked up or trying to make a killing this Bank holiday weekend?
If it has a toilet and fresh water that's all we need I'm use to paying ?3pppn in Derbyshire

Anywhere in particular given that North Yorkshire is bigger than Wales. Well not too far off anyhow...

If its for caving the one in the middle of Horton is hassle free and a very easy stumble back to from the pubs.

Yes the 3 peaks area for caving. I'm not going to even consider getting on the one in Horton in Ribblesdale it will be full by Friday night I've looked at others but mostly fully booked or silly money! I'm after any thing cheap and cheerfully and garmented pitch.

I have - we were in the Helwith Bridge last Bank Holiday weekend (4 - 6 May), staying at the YSS's place. The pub was still the same as far as we were concerned even without Colin!

I still think it's worth looking at http://www.helwithbridgeinn.co.uk/ . The camp site (http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=8845) is next to it and I believe is ?2.50 a night - although I've not stayed there myself - not with the YSS just across the car park...
Helwith Bridge is about as close to Pen-y-Ghent as Horton-in-Ribblesdale.

Another vote for the field next to the Helwith Bridge Inn - there's bound to be space, it's cheap and the pub next door is excellent.

Dalesbridge campsite just outside of Clapham always do their best to get you in, Stayed there a few times although I can't remember prices but is caver friendly and has a belting drying room which in my opinion is worth a few extra quid a day!

Thought camping was a budget friendly option anyway?  Could always cut costs by wild camping? Which I have done before in the summer months.  This is fun as long as you plan it ok as you can have a lot of tackle and personal kit to carry in (and out!)

Although be warned! Your fleece will still be cold and soggy in the morning ready for your next trip out!

Aah me, and oh dear, does this mean the sloping field at the side of the Hill Inn is no longer available ??, How about the one just up the road from the Penyghent Cafe ?? (always a good breakfast!!)
