Can any caving club make use of a large bin?

Anyone want a large (clean) plastic dustbin? It's been used for storing stuff in a container and is now surplus to requirements. Free of charge but you'll need to collect (or ask for caver post) from the Dales; Clapham area.

Could be used as a large bin (obviously) but maybe as a useful vessel for soaking new caving rope?

Interesting. Couple of questions. Is the bin liner included. Will those clips hold the lid down in windy weather. And will Newcastle city council empty the bin as it’s not a standard issue council bin. Im in Newcastle at the minute and short of a bin.

Latter will probably be a NO, as modern machines don't cope with round bins

The bin liner? Well yes; I guess so. I presume that's what the clips are for. But whether the council will empty the bin seems unlikely. I doubt their machines will work with a non wheelie bin design. Ring them and ask?
