    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

Do you know your arse from your Devil's Elbow?

Are you the New Renascence or condemned to Desolation Row?

Roll up, roll up for the Caver's Quiz Night.

The questions have been set by the Wig and Milche, so you can expect a thorough work out for your caving grey cells.

There is a maximum of 12 teams so register early with Phil to avoid disappointment. Phil's contact details are at the foot of the poster.

Participating clubs are invited to provide a small prize for the raffle.

I'd of thought that at 7:30pm GMT you'd be in a bar somewhere on Lanzarote.

I will be in Banff, Canada having lunch!!

The Wessex obviously!!!!

actually "ATLAS" came first, WCC A came second and WCC B came third.

A superb evening and quite a good quiz, thanks due to the Wig and also Milch for the questions.

ATLAS got 91 points out of a possible 110, much respect.

The team I was in came fourth; which is crap. Not as crap as some of the other teams, though. Stuffed our faces with biccies, crisps and enjoyed the evening.

The event was very well organised: it's worth mentioning that Wig, Milche, Phil H, Brian P, Wendy W, Les, W and a cast of thousands did sterling work in making the evening happen and it was also great to have an off-Mendip team in the ranks, although they were clearly at a major disadvantage as all of the questions were "local questions, for local people".

It's the taking part that counts! (y)  Not the winning!  It was well attended by Mendip cavers.

Not that I want to nit pick, but the quiz was out of a total of 120 (joker remember).

It was jolly good fun and our team ACG came a magnificent fifth out of seven!

Not that I want to nit-pick (it's sooo unlike me!) but I seem to recall that there were ten rounds of ten questions but the joker enabled a team to score double points in a round; hence that would make a total of 110 achieveable points. I don't know whether there was a point for the survey challenge, though.

The survey round was worth 5 points if you could put it together and another 5 if you could say where it was.

 In that case me and Cookie are wrong!

Well spotted. Makes our overall score even more underwhelming than it was, then?
