C'mon chris, maybe the guy just has a once-in-a-lifetime chance of doing such a thing. Would'nt you?

Sure would, but if you've got 6-8 people who can take what appears to be a year off plus the better part of ?100K of kit normally I'd expect the objectives to pre-exist the logistics, especially as there's a recession on!

I reckon there's huge scope for Ewan's team to be A MASSIVE BOOST to any pre-existing expeditions that don't have access to this fabulous array of backup! - certainly it has the hallmarks of an expedition-without-a-venue and seems a shame to miss the chance of pioneering new stuff for the sake of getting sidetracked on a jolly just doing sports trips.

If no one ever had a dream or idea good or bad and was willing to work hard to make it work we would not have much to teach kids about him history

I am just a man with a idea and the willingness to try and make it happen

Pass - as far as I'm concerned

What a shame . . . here's what you're missing, a map of Carlista with a poky little scrat-hole in the Dales for scale :) :)

Ignore some of these old fogies on this website Ewan. They would not know adventure if it smacked them in the face.

Sorry, strange mood maybe its the   talking  or maybe I am jelous and wish I could take a year off too, so all power to you and wish you the best of luck and wish I could come with.

Hang on whats stopping me, oh yeh those pesky bits of paper :(

Try www.caverbob.com Worlds Longest Caves, gives a few caves/systems over 15km !

Lot`s of massive systems in the USA, Mammoth,Jewel Cave, Lechuguilla,Fisher Ridge, Wind Cave although they all have access requirements and with White Nose Syndrome (WNS) could be problematic.

Hi All

Thanks for more info and its given me things to start looking at

Sorry you all need a bit more info so here you go

We are looking at doing a round the world trip in two 4x4's with more caving and climbing kit than you can POKE WITH A SHITTY STICK bit of a mix why we are going and info is not 100% yet with lots of options and we have to have the plan 100% before we can talk to people. Looks like we might have 8 of us in all 6 caving and 2 support

Keep em coming
Ewan

If you have all this equipment and the knowledge to use it, then you should also have acquired the knowledge of which caves might be worth a look.

If that's the case, then post up your possibles and let people reccommend those of them that seem the best.

Certainly sounds like a dream to me.... ::)

Can see this in not going to work asking people on here as people are more keep to put the idea down or give advice - thanks very much for your input but just looking for info about overseas caves will contact people in person  o_O

Dream the dream Ewan, good luck with the adventure, sounds brilliant.

There are many doubters on here who could just google Ewan Cameron and see that you are a genuine bloke who just doesn't want to sit at his computer virtual caving

Not scared to use your real name either  (y)

Ewan, your two sites look great and your proposed adventure sounds idyllic; if only I wasn't tied down with kids, I'd be trying to blag a part of this adventure, good luck to you.
