Hello,

I'm looking for information on any known caves around Worle Hillside in Weston-Super-Mare.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated, thanks in advance  :)

Have you tried mcra.org.uk?

A quick search centred between WSM and Worle found quite a few sites.  (y)

If you search the publications on the BEC website for 'worle' - http://www.bec-cave.org.uk/publications-mainmenu-32.html - the two Nicks have written up quite a bit on caves in the Weston area. Chris Richards (used to work for weston museum, don't know if he still does), was also a font of knowledge on caves in the Weston area. I had a look at quite a few caves in the Weston area in the 90s but memory is a bit rusty, so i'd have to dig out my logbooks from then for more information.

Wow, there's an impressive number of caves within 2km of ST 32602 62649 on the Registry.

I grew up around there. I only cave I was aware of at the time was the one on Manor Road with the electricity substation in it. A couple of years ago before the MCRA registry was online I had a look at the ones in the town quarry - very small! In the latest issue of Descent there is an article about a dig that the two Nicks from the BEC are doing.

I'm planning to take a look at some of the caves listed on MCRA soon.
