I am moving to a smaller house and need to reduced my collection of caving books.
RESOURCES ON THE SPELEOLOGY OF MEGHALAYA STATE, INDIA. Part 1 Overview by Daniel Gebauer 2008 152 pp many maps and overview surveys. This volume describes the general settings on the speleology of this ?caving heaven? in N E India, where international expeditions have so far yielded hundreds of kilometers of fine cave passages. The geography, geology, hydrology, exploration history and many other basics are presented, accompanied by an incredible bibliography. IM BANNE DER GROSSEN H?HLE / Abenteuer in der gr?ssten H?hle Europas by Alfred B?gli 1972 second edition. 174 pp, 46 B&W, maps, surveys etc. Sub-titled ?Adventure in the largest cave in Europe?, this is the exciting story of the exploration of the H?lloch [=Hell Hole], one time longest cave in the world. In 1952 Prof B?gli and 3 other cavers were trapped in the cave for 9 days by flood water. By the time the waters went down, the rescuers had given them up for dead and locked the cave, so they had to break their way out! A good read. PREMIER CARBIDE LAMP. This is a historical item, made by the Premier Lamp Co of Leeds in the 1960s. I used this until quite recently for exploring old coal mines, but the naked flame made my fellow explorers nervous, so I had to go over to electric. It is a cap lamp 10? mm high [c4? inches] and in working order. ?25.00
