Excellent, by all accounts.... The most recent Descent had an article by Martin Farr giving the lowdown.

Ian Bishop (Keyhole Caving Club) has witten a book book Slovenia - Caves of the Clasical Karst. Certainly good to inspire a trip but I have never been. One day

looking at going to slovenia myself in a couple of weeks time - last minute.
I wont be caving, but I might use it as a recce mission. Some of the show caves look awesome so might take a trip round those.

We actually want to do some walking and maybe some via ferrata in the julian alps around triglav, but Im uncertain about the weather in june. looks like it might be the rainy season.

sounds like postanja cave, and yes, they do sound awsome. Just fretting about the weather at the moment since we want to do some via ferrata or at least some walking in the mountains - but it looks like june is one of their wettest months. Ho hum - we'll have to see.

Laze is where most people go, though Slovenia does have alpine systems too:

Cheers Mucco

Flights are booked - first two weeks in july.

Planning to do first week in Bled and around triglav - then off round to the karst for the second week.

Whats Laze like - it looks like a small place, is it a village or town. Is there camping??

I wont be taking any kit so it will be show caves only. Any reccomendations!!
Having said that - what are the chances of borrowing kit - or getting on a trip round a wild cave.
