Well then, caving is covered under the CROW act as it's an outdoors activity  ;)
'Open Air' is the crux.

I know this is only a light-hearted discussion, but seriously CrOW covers what Terry says. That's why BCA have got a CrOW working party looking into this who will be getting legal advice and taking appropriate action to try and benefit all cavers. It will take time, but it is being investigated...

I wonder what the usual suspects will do if BCA spends fifteen hundred notes on Counsel's opinion and gets advice they don't like.

I've just had a caving system built inside a building!!!

Good post!
Just like pretend cliffs indoors are called climbing walls, a term needs to evolve for artificial caves... Clearly caves can only be formed by natural processes as cavities formed by human agency are called mines. Artificial caves need a neat name similar to climbing wall. What do you call your system?

Caving, but I suppose by definition it's an artificial system, even has a sump with balls in it.

To be fair some of it is more challenging than some caves I've entered.

Indoors/Outdoors

It's not that easy to use a computer from an armchair.

Unless it's a laptop, in which case why wouldn't you take it outside? (This morning, anyway, even if not yesterday)
