Caving poem

I am currently creating a short book of poems and creative writing based around my fascination of historic places, ruins and my hobbies, one of which is the enjoyment of caves and mines. I thought other members here may enjoy it. Any feedback is happily received, good or bad. Hope you recognise some of the themes it contains.
Totally aware the image I've used is a mine, but the image is only designed to be representative and it's one of my nicer underground images.

By chance ( I had managed to miss this post), I composed a poem this morning.

I went down Redhouse Lane,
As it began to rain.
The water rose,
I nearly froze,
I shan't do that again!

(Inspired by a poem I once heard in The Hunters: I went to the sump in Stoke Lane, I shan't do that again.)

[Edit: quickly froze > nearly froze]
