Caving tree surgeon required!

hiya
im looking for a caving tree surgeon, preferably someone who frequents the dales, who may have an adapted harness i could look at for ideas.

reason is, due to a recent operation i have a problem with my srt harness sitting over the op site and it has been suggested to me that a tree surgeons harness or similar may be the answer.

i need to raise where the waistband lies preferably to actual waist height or just below but still need to be able to prussik efficiently.
all help and suggestions will be gratefully received.

many thanks.

Don't know much about tree surgeon equipment but i know a little about rope access gear. If you got the money maybe you could go down the line of something like the Petzl Navaho Vario.

http://w01-0504.web.dircon.net/acatalog/Main_Menu_C79_Navaho_Vario_545.html

These tighten up nice and easily to around your waist with good back support and so are very comfortable to sit in for long periods. Obviously not the sort of equipment your gunna want to crawl in and it does take a bit of getting used to, but otherwise it should be good for the job.

I don't know if it would suit, but maybe you could look at a body harness, like these used onFerretas There is one on:

I don't know if it is SRT that you need to do...or more general ladder/lifelining

hi guys
thanks for the replies.
i definately need something for srt as i hate ladders.
i was hoping maybe i could modify my petzl harness in some way to make it cheaper.
i am, however, thinking of doing the rope access course so maybe i will need something different for that.
rob the navaho harness looks good but like you say it wouldnt be ideal for crawling in.

Also "theoretically" you shouldn't cave in your actual rope access harness. It should be used in the industry only.

well thats me told :)

i think i would definately keep work and play separate anyway for safety reasons.

just need to get this harness problem sorted then i can be back underground swinging around on ropes again.

Although there is a stunted hazel tree growing in Wookey Hole next to a lamp I generally didn't realise trees grew in caves - and specifically required caving tree surgeons.

There's the Bonsai Tree in Daren Cilau although I think if anyone tried to prune it they'd need surgery :D
