Changes to Recent Topics on Home Page

All feedback on this issue welcome, it's a great way for us to improve the forum so don't worry about me finding comments negative/positive, whatever - I won't.  We can revert to previous version, keep new version, try to improve new version - we'll give it a few more days to see if a) Q can improve this version (I've e-mailed him) b) read any more opinions.

I think it's quite confusing as it is now, as the long thread titles tend to merge into one block of text and the last line of one title is closer to the first line of the next than it is to the previous line of the same title which makes it quite hard to read.

To me, the new "Recent Topic"-Section is a bloody mess. 
In this case, the old design was much better (but I also understand the need for some further definition/orientation, some topic titles are close to meaningless, so the section information helps a bit) - maybe it's possible to add some lines between the seperate topics or place the titles in bold letters?

Better still would be to show up the "extra" information in a pop-up 'hint' when you hover the mouse over an item?.......

I have to say that I don't like it and like others I thought initially that there was something wrong with my laptop. The old view was simple and straightforward whereas this is much less easy to read. Having said that it may simply be that us old folk just don't like change!

I have to agree with what MCH said about thinking there was a fault.

I was working abroad when the change came in and looking at the forum on my iPhone.

It was very difficult to read and when I touched the screen with my finger it invariably went to the posters details. It never used to do that. Maybe my finger has swelled up with the current heat wave.

I've just got home and now looking at it on my laptop. I am old and I don't mind change, but only when it's for the better.

Please support the old folk, who's eyesight isn't what it used to be, and change it back to how it was.

How would that work on touch screen devices?

I?m the one that suggested this change, and it?s taken a little bit of getting used to, I think with some gentle amending of spacing etc it could be a good change, but have to admit even I am not 100% about it so far!
