as i dont know where the changing barn is on priddy green could someone enlighten me please, ive used the wessex club house past couple of times to go to swildons but as im not a member of that club i dont want to abuse the courtesy shown to me in allowing my lot to get changed there the past few times.
Also how do i get to swildons from priddy green, as i have only been twice from the club hut and dont know that way  at all.

Les W took us down there about a month ago and ive been once since on my own down to the 20ft pot, my lot love this cave so want to go more often, totally different to the burrington caves. were moving on up at last lol.  ;)

any advice please ,

managed to find the Hunters easy enough tho' and sampled there grub.  (y)

Very rough drawing and not to scale  ;)

Park on the gravel area to the front of the barn, just to the left of the sign on the barn "Swildons Hole etc etc" follow the wooden steps upstairs to the changing area - Caution the steps can be lethal on the way down and watch your head when it's dark.

Come out of the barn and turn left and it's the 1st gate / stile on your right, follow the valley over 3 stone stiles and you will have arrived at your destination.

As for money, I think you now have to pay at the house to the left of the barn at not the one opposite the gate ?

Hope this helps

It's actually a BEC member that has been shot in the head with a cross bow and has had his armed torn off by the Wessex caver stood at the block house (back turned, denided all knowledge).

Although the nice blue arrow does correctly indicate where to enter the changing barn, you do not have to go all around the back of the barn to get in. Go left at the top of the Priddy Green triangle and through the open gateway there.

Obviously a fantasy as we all know how well the two clubs actually get on!

Yes. Keep your helmet on until you exit the barn!

I understand it's still in the care of Wimps and Y-Anchors; had an email recently asking whether it's still being looked after as apparently it needs a bit of TLC but I guess the building works next to it are taking precedence at the moment (I was informed that one of the doors is hanging off its hinges and there's a broken window, and the usual litter etc.).

I don't think so, Anne; IIRC Reita F, the chair, is still the contactee and recently announced an address change.

What's the story behind that barn?

I have always been impressed by it - and assumed it was provided by the farmer's altruism?

I'm also aware that the locals don't like to see cavers getting changed on the green which is fair enough.
(Twould be fine if they were all nubile student girlies but as most cavers are middle-aged men...)

Is it a form of S*ds law - lovely warm summery weather then you have a barn to change in - Swildons last weekend.

Draenen - almost anytime of year cold wet and a galeforce wind! Huddle behind the car for a bit of shelter (shelter, you were lucky to have shelter!)
