At Bullpot Farm, the Cambridge clan
A trip to Ireby Fell decreed:
Where cavers five abseiled and ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sumpy sea.
So down five pitches through the ground
With rope and harness girdled round;
And there were low crawls bright with frigid rills,
Where blossomed many a bruise on careless knees;
And here some calcite ancient as the hills,
So far from sunny spots of greenery.
