Cheddar Caving Club - Cavers Quiz Night

On Saturday 27th February 2010 at 8pm, there will be another Cheddar Caving Club Quiz Night.  Venue is the Hunter's Lodge Inn in Priddy.  See the poster for more details.

We came second to a team from Cheddar Caves consisting of Phil Hendy, Chris Castle and 2 young ladies whose names I do not know. The questions were demanding. Max score was 27 out of 41 and included knowledge of such exotic items as a baguette holder and a bull's face plate plus the usual riddles. the place was packed with plenty of on tap.

Given the obscurity of the questions I didn't feel bad about getting 12 out of 41. I reckon we could have been fourth or even third with a top score like that.  :-\ :-[

Not even close.

One of the questions was about a piece of equipment (leather harness and metal), turns out it was to fit on a bulls head.
Another thing was a very long narrow bit of wood, turns out it was for making French Sticks (bread).

I seem to recall the odd question on caving, I guess that's why we managed to score 12.
