Fridays CNCC meeting (19th October 8pm at Hellifield Village Institute) has been cancelled due to the unusually high number of apologies received. The next meeting is as scheduled on 18th January.

Cheers,

Glenn

Have they cancelled because they don't know what to do about "P" bolts  :-\

.... er, no; it's been cancelled due to the unusually high number of apologies received. Hint. The clue is in the words, i.e. very few people will be attending so there's no point in bothering with the meeting.

I am confusing nowt my friend.
In case you did not know, "P" bolts come from The North.
The chaps up North are trying to develop a new "P" bolt or wotever system to replace the present "P" bolt system. ;)

My apologies Whitelackington. I thought that you said 'Have they cancelled because they don't know what to do about "P" bolts'. I did not realise that you said 'Have they cancelled because a decision on what new bolting system will replace the current one has not been reached yet?' which obviously makes more sense.

I also thought that 'P' bolts were on sale from any good fixings supplier not just from The North. ;)

Well I would have loved to attend this meeting.

Cancelling prevents people from having their say about access issues in the Yorkshire Dales.

I think the CNCC should address their policies.

Is it any wonder that many Dales based cavers ignore access procedures?

Lots of people probably say that, but most probably never do.

Garbage, if you are going to ignore access procedures you will do it anyway.
If you are so concerned about access why not write a letter to them and request it be brought up at the next available meeting. Or perhaps, offer your services to the CNCC and spend lots of your spare time defending what you are doing to cavers that want to criticise you.

but is there a common reason
why there were an unusually high number of apologies received,
" the clue is NOT in the words"

Er, common reason? Perhaps they had other things to do which meant they were unable to attend. Perhaps they have an evening social engagement. Common reason? - they were all out on a hot date with the same person?

Sorry, WL; couldn't resist it! You're a good egg so I hope my sarky comment(s) don't annoy you too much. It was just too good an opportunity to miss!  (y)

No offence taken
but there may be a common reason why so many delegates said the could not attend?

Perhaps they all decided to stay home that weekend to see England thrash South Africa at the rugby match. How did we do anyway, does anybody know the result?
