Due to be going down there on Sunday. Just wonder if anyone can fill me in on a few
details. Namely is it tight and grotty and is there much crawling.

No - it's not tight and grotty, although the first section is one of the finest examples of chemically-induced rapid weathering to be found in the Dales. It's a fairly straightforward trip (although I must admit, it was rigged when I descended), and the last pitch is quite impressive.

There's one place it is possible to go wrong. There's a fairly narrow ladder descent at one point, with a passage going off in both directions at the bottom. People tend to enter the passage they happen to be facing when they get to the bottom! Facing the ladder, the right way on is to the right.

Cheers.  (y)

Been out of action for a couple of weeks with a dicky knee and the last thing
I wanted to do was a mammoth crawling session or mad contortions.

Only done it the once upwards as part of a Jib / Corky's exchange, and whilst not tight in the "squeeze" sense of tight I seem to recall there was some flat out thrutching in places, and crawling in others.

Obviously nothing really horrendous though, as my memory always blanks those bits from trips otherwise I'd never go back to half the trips I do ;)

Some guys from my club had a trip down Corky's Pot last Saturday (not me - not my cup of tea!).

They brought enough ladders for all the pitches except for the last two, which are suitable for SRT. They found they got to the foot of the third pitch, already mentioned above which has two ways on at the bottom, without using any of the ladders!

There's an excellent description at York Uni's Web Site.
