I was last there about 20+ years ago and I suppose access might have changed since then - and memory ain't what it used to be either! But my recollection is of a fairly straightforward adit at the base of the crag - which went for a couple of hundred meters but was blind - plus some "rabbit warrens" higher up on the fellside. These were a bit "iffy", with deads and the roof held up by some ancient wooden stemples, so we didn't explore very far in. The abiding memory is of coming out absolutely covered in red ochre which was a real devil to clean off - I stained a rock by sitting on it and the stain was still visible some years later! No sure if this helps at all though.....

the cncc web site has said that for a few years now, cant find any info on any of the mine sites, just been looking at the survey the rrcpc did back in the 60s and looks like it could be worth a visit  :)
