Latest national weather forecast was drizzling rain all day today (Thursday). Should just be coming through by Sunday.

Anyone been in Peak this weekend (24/25 Feb) and know what the water levels are like?  As ever, the most useful info would be regarding the flow out from Far Sump.  Thanks.

In TITAN today out Speedwell. Far Sump seemed pretty high, 3 inches of air space to get into the sump pool from AI passage. Rasp was sumped and everywhere was relatively wet. Water was backed up a little behind the Boulder Piles in Speedwell, I could just about walk upstream but Katie swam a little way.

We've had a lot of rain in the Dales today - does anyone know if it's also affected the Peak System water levels?

Aye!  And also Chris Heywood's daily rainfall figures on the CDG visbot, recorded at Sparrowpit - where it really matters!  But there's nowt like a posting from someone who has actually seen what's happpening at Peak directly.

By the way - you asked about an update for the DCA NL.  Really it'd be better to wait till after the next series of dives at Far Sump before doing that - so maybe not for the forthcoming issue.  The main reason I wrote that for your next edition is that we have had marvellous support over this last winter on various diving projects in Peak and I just wanted to make the point about hop grateful all the divers are to the large number of cavers who have generously helped out.

That should have read "hoW" grateful in the above post - apologies for lousy spelling.

We had a bucketload of rain here in the Dales Sunday afternoon and evening.  The Buxton weather site says there it was wet in the Peak too.  Anyone know what effect it's had on the water levels in the Peak Cavern system?

I don't know how the sunday rain affected the system but on saturday it was considerably lower then it was last weekend.

The detector in minor sump passage was left high and dry and the water was 5 metres down the passage from it.

Back to this one again - does anybody know what water levels are like now in Peak & Speedwell?  We've a had a fair bit of rain in the Dales lately and rivers are now up just a bit.  It normally takes a lot more rain to get things going in the Peak at this time of year.  Anybody seen what's happening lately?

Ta.

Might be worth giving the Moose a call. He's been all over the Peak Farsump system this week. Doing secret underground projects for the BBC.

All i've seen is TITAN and that is pretty dry. Maybe a pint per sec coming from the streamway. (Shame it's only water!)

Me again - just wondering if that rain Friday night and Saturday has affected flows in Peak Cavern very much. If anyone went in this Sunday and noticed whetherr Far Sump is flowing and roughly how much I'd be really gratefuful if you could add a comment here. Thank you.
