As at Tuesday morning there's now a lot less "S" than 48 hours ago. It was above freezing yesterday at valley level and the inch or so of snow we woke up to yesterday has mainly thawed. The sleet / snow we had forecast last night has gone through as rain (7 mm in the case of my gauge near Clapham). At 06-00 it was hovering just above freezing and it should gradually get milder now over the next few days. I mention this simply because sooner or later our caves are likely to have some more water in them - and it'll not be very warm water. It also means that various refugees from Bull Pot Farm who have been staying in other club huts might find the road's eventually OK to get back. I don't yet know if rivers have risen at all (bearing in mind it's colder higher up, where it really matters) but I'll try and give an update after work this evening.
I'm still looking forward to the other "S" (summer).
