Just so everyone on here interested knows, both of these caves now need a 'Derbyshire Key' . Either an adjustable spanner or a 17mm spanner like most caves in the Manifold area. An article will appear in the next DCA N/L hopefully about this access work.
Access is unchanged (ie:- just go down) and they are both freely accessible, but both are easily accessible by the public too so wanted to get them secured though before the next bank holiday. (Don't want kiddies falling down 'em. ) Darfar Pot (25ft pitch straight inside, followed by another and another!) and Riverside Swallet top entrance. (60ft pitch straight inside.) Please make sure the entrances are left secure after any visits.
Have now got vandalism on another swallet to deal with asap, sigh. (Close to public track.) Then got another 6 or 7 entrances to do concreting type work on... Any help would be appreciated!
Many thanx, Mel.
