I've yet to subject my camera to a bucket wash, I keep it in it's little peli-case and try to keep it as clean as possible with a cloth One thing I can say is make sure no mobile phones or chocolate bars get left in any pockets.

The first day out towards the surface from camp 7 in Riesending where I was last month with Madphil Rowsell, Florian Schwarz and Ulrich Meyer begins with a series of incredibly muddy ramps up and down. Really thick, glutinous stuff that gets everywhere, clogging up your jammers.

Relief comes in a section of cleaner passage with some shallow pools. The chums have installed washing up brushes. Very helpful.
