Subject: Willie STANTON.

It is with great regret that I write to you all, to inform you of the death this morning at around miday of Dr.Willie STANTON.

Willie passed away peacfully in his sleep after a prolonged illness and a very full and good life .

He leaves behind his daughters Sue and Jenny, and I am sure you will all join in wishing them every good thought at this sad time.

Willie was a great caver and geologist.

I dug with him at many sites and anyone who has been down Reservoir Hole can see the amazing way he worked.

He was all ways willing to offer advice to me on my digs and how the caves were formed.

He was a good friend and will be sadly missed.

I would echo these thoughts. A true original with interests and concerns way beyond caving.

A true gentleman, and probably the last direct link with the Balch era,I remember him being very willing to answer my questions when I was getting interested in geology. Im sure those cemented walls with footholds in his many digs will always remind me of him.
