I put it on nwex as this is something that would be very much in their line of interest.  You were looking to get the numbers up so I was only trying to help.  Having an insurance stipulation will rule out a lot a lot of the exploration forums anyway.

Once some details were settled upon, I was going to repost on nwex for more definate numbers.  I will just direct them to the AN site if they are a mbr on that forum, and collect names to go on my party otherwise.

to be honest I had never heard of nwex till I saw your mailings and  I wanted to  put a lid on the numbers really for the benefit of photographers, there is always the possibility of other dates. The insurance may put people off although anyone who is a member of Sub Brit is covered as part of membership as may others PDHMS, you can also obtain it through Adit now or through most caving clubs. In Shropshire without it we would lose access to several mine sites including snailbeach and Clive

Hi Mike, I notice this thread has gone very quiet. Can you let us know if trip is still likely to go ahead, I think April the 9th was suggested?

Cheers

I've messaged people for contact details - apologies for the slightly impersonal nature of the messages, as it's a cut'n'paste job...

It may be a couple of days before everyone gets a PM, but if anyone has been left out, let me know!

Please ensure that replies are by email, not by return of PM ;)

Just a gentle reminder to those who have received PMs please to send the details of attendees through as soon as possible!

If anyone is interested in the trip but did not put their name down, I'll start up a 'reserve list' - if you're interested, please reply to this thread.

The reserves may be used to fill in for those people who did initially express an interest but haven't responded, so please send me an email as soon as possible! If you've not had a PM, let me know and I'll resend it.

Any questions, please ask!

It's time to name and shame...!  Those of you I'm waiting for responses from:

LesW
carabeener
jaswa
Denzul

If you've not had a PM, let me know!

If you do not wish to go; or are unable to go, similarly please let me know otherwise I may have to assume that you don't want to go and offer your place to someone on the reserve list...

LesW went to Devon caving on Thurs, due back Monday.

He does seem to spend most of his time looking at UK caving on his phone so it's no excuse really.

Cheers - if anyone sees him, could they please prod him...  :chair:

PMs sent to those who haven't replied yet.

Unless we hear by Friday, 25th February, we'll have to assume that people no longer wish to join the trip and then offer those places to those on the reserve list.

Note: there are a lot of you listed under the Wessex name, but I've not got a single name yet! Some sort of response, even if it's that not a single one of the 14 names that are down are going to attend, would be much appreciated, ta

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT INSURANCE

Mike Moore has now been able to clarify with the site owners that insurance will not be required for the trip.

If there are any more people who are interested in visiting Drakelow on April 9th but have not mentioned it up to now, please send me an email to drakelow@aditnow.co.uk and I'll add you to the reserve list.

I have negotiated 100 places for the visit it would make sense to stagger arrival times the site will be open from 09:00 until 16:00. There are still some places available

I have also invited Tony Seddon of Starless River Caving Gear who will bring along his mobile shop an added attraction  http://www.starlessriver.com/shop/

If anyone wants a copy of Drakelow Unearthed or the Drakelow DVD please let me know in advance to ensure the stock is available

UPDATE - 20/03/2011

I've sent emails with payment details to all people who are on the list for the Drakelow trip, which is now confirmed for Saturday, 9th April.

As we have to pay upfront for the trip and pass a list of attendees on to the owner beforehand, please ensure that payment is made by Thursday, March 31st otherwise you may not be able to attend.

Please note that BCA insurance is not needed for the trip.

There are a handful of spaces available, so if you are interested in coming; or if you wish to bring someone else along, then please send an email to drakelow@aditnow.co.uk

Similarly, if you think you should have had an email today but have not, please send me an email at the same address.

Any other queries, please ask!

Thank you, UK Caving folk, for being the first of the four forums to pay up in full!  (y)

If there's anyone who wants to be added to the reserve list / last-minute-scramble, drop me an email to drakelow@aditnow.co.uk
