No water sinking at Bridge Cave yesterday. Didn't wander upriver to see if any water going into the Little Neath entrance. Very little water coming out of the Pant Mawr resurgence but significantly more coming from the Little Neath resurgence - there was a proper river diwnstream of there.

After an entertaining hour or two earlier, I can confirm there is still plenty of water in Hyperthermia. Perhaps less than usual, but still ear-wetting in many places and shiver-inducing.

And I can confirm from this same afternoon that doing Hydrophobia in a furry without knee pads is a Very Silly Idea as the coldness hides the pain until one gets back to the car - outch.

Upper has a fall a short distance in, portal has been dug and drained the past so dry spell make no difference.
Lower is very solidly blocked, portal and higher. People have descended Coaling Shaft in the past and got nowhere.
Mine opportunities are there though. Upper Dinas, Cwmorthin, and possibly a few around Ceredigion. This weekend water was down about 3 feet in Taylors Incline at Goginan, Brynyrafr as mentioned, and some others.

Some bright spark I went on a trip with said it's the smell of ozone. I remarked on the difference of smell between a cave and the outside summery weather, and they mentioned it was the ozone.

Much as I'm getting deeply worried about the lack of grazing with the ongoing drying, possible shortage of fodder come winter if there can't be later cuts of silage and haylage, and standpipes (Severn Trent have been round marking all the water points with blue this week :thumbsdown, there are also opportunities.
Parch marks and verdant spots are now very much apparent, so in areas where you suspect there might be something, you can look for the different bits for pointers on possible sub-surface features.
