    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

I've been eating those crisps this week!

Mushroom Passage, Toadstool Junction.
Butterfield Pasage.
Quality Street.
The Subway - that might require advance planning to acquire before the trip.
whereabouts is Quality Street? and mushroom passage? and the subway? Will give butterfield and toadstool a miss

A little more back story; in Notts II Curry Inlet was named as we had a stash of "Hotcans" (self heating food cans) at that passage junction when the area was first being explored, long before there was a non diving way in. The curry was particularly good (as was the turkey marengo). Mincemeat Aven's name arose during a radio location trip via the Notts Pot downstream sump. Bob Mackin had kindly supplied a Molefone which also allowed speech communication. Pete Riley used the Molefone to ask someone on the surface to go and buy him some minced beef before the shops closed, as it was a long trip.

(Apologies to the O.P - I'm digressing slightly . . . . )

Can you still get them?! I've not seen them for years!

(Google, Google . . . . ) Blimey: https://www.goldenwonder.com/

Just to make thehungrytroglobite's planning slightly easier, perhaps "Butterfield's Passage" isn't strictly named after food. It was named after Frank "Buzzer" Butterfield, who later became President of the Northern Pennine Club. He lived at The Knoll in Austwick (just down the road from Jack Myers in fact).
made just down the road from us in Corby

I would like to add that baby hagrid and samouse 1 will most likely also be taking part in this food fest. I am not the only greedy one here

In-between Bi the way and squire trelawneys passage. Near to Sylvester Pot
Apple Barrel is accessed via Maracaibo, so not really near Sylvesters at all (but it is close to Squire Trelawneys).

I still think that the Easegill Meal has a nicer ring to it than Food Traverse.

There's plenty of others that no one has alluded to yet, here are some off the top of my head (I have a full list in my copy of Northern Caves):
Big Mean Porridge Machine (Bye George, and its an utter shithole)
Little Lechuguilla (translates as 'Little Little Lettuce' from spanish; this bit of passage also a shithole)
Onion Passage (between Eureka Junction and the Depot in County)
Christmas Pudding Passage (end of Woodhouse Way)
Pickle Passage (near the Grind, another shithole)

The trip is basically a top sink to bye george traverse with a lot of messing around en route and almost no section of the cave unvisited. Obviously the purest style to do the trip is in a continuous push with no returning to the surface to rest or collect food; that would be a pretty big undertaking...

Thanks for this Nob. I definitely would have tried to access the apple barrel from Sylvester so glad to have that cleared up! I've got big mean porridge, onion and christmas pudding on the list but hadn't thought of Pickle Passage and didn't know what Little Lechuguilla meant so will def add these ones on. If you could send me the list of places you've got in your Northern Caves that would be super helpful.

I agree, Easegill Meal sounds better.
