I know that everybody and their dog on here are proper HARD CAVERS
Be they of Welsh or Yorkshire origin.
And having loads of extra gear is the norm, in case somthing gets mullered.

I am hoping to go to OFD this week end and 2 friends of mine have decided the best way to avoid me rabbiting on about my last trip , was to come with me.
Without saying i am going with another HARD CAVER.
I have all my own gear, but my friends only have wellies.

Has anybody hired equipment before and what is the score if it gets damaged as most stuff takes a few knocks.
and is it expensive ?
I only ask as, conviently
There is a shop down the road from OFD that does have a hire service

I've been caving in a T-shirt and beach sandals.....not in OFD though. I think anybody hiring out caving gear knows what the score is and the price you pay reflects the fact that kit wears out quite fast.

hitch and hike hire lamps and helmets and belts in the peak. Seems like a reasonable service.

You probably mean Dragon a few miles away. Have a look on their website www.dragon-speleo.co.uk - the hire prices are all on there. Give them a call though as I do know some of their prices have changed since the site was last done.
