Expedition Training Weekend

There will be an Expedition Training Workshop at the Summit/WICC climbing wall in South Wales (near Merthyr) over the weekend of 27-29 March run by the veterans of the Dachstein Expeditions.  Whilst it's aimed at those people going out to Austria this summer anyone is welcome as long as we have space.  Suggest some SRT skill is required as we don't really have time to teach people from scratch.  The format will be a bit different this year but will still include a huge amount of SRT training at all levels, surveying in the artificial cave (Disto and compass/clino), expedition equipment, emergency procedures (flooding, shelters etc).  On the Sunday instead of heading underground for a rescue practice we're going to make the most of the facility and have a full-blown vertical rescue drill.  Cost will be ?30 to cover two nights accommodation, three course evening meal on the Saturday, basic meals for the rest of the weekend.  Probably got about 40 people attending so should be a laugh.  This is all being run at cost as the wall requires ?27 each so even the trainers are having to pay ;-(  Join the Facebook event https://www.facebook.com/events/721278897987108/ or message me directly.
