Fatality in working Bath Stone Quarry

I've just heard about this. A quarryman was killed on Wednesday this week by being crushed under half a ton of rock, when extracting stone from the Stoke Hill Mine, Limpley Stoke.

A member of our club, who has contacts with the company, says that the man unfortunately died from his injuries after being rescued from the collapse.

Its very sad we visited the mine (offical tour) in Oct 2005 and the mine manager was very hot on his safety, they practiced rescues regually so were well prepared.
