I don't remember seeing those stones there before I must have been "Stoned" or more likely pi$$edRazzerip1 said:

About 568 472 (it is Eastings first isn't it?) - just to the west of a crossroads of footpaths by a gate that goes down the hill to Tynings Riding Stables. There are two others further East of this along the same contour and close to the field boundary. They aren't marked on the map.

I shall check this out next time I am there.

Any turkeys coming in to land @ Westhay? :blink:anfieldman said:gus horsley said:Westhay Nature Reserve on the Somerset Levels. Go there about 4:30 pm and watch the starlings. Incredible!
Quite agree, but last Sunday we went there and spent two hours waiting for the buggers to flock and they had gone elsewhere!! Bloody freezing it was too. And I lost an expensive pair of sunglasses. 8)
Still had the marvellous site of about 100 Wagtails all feeding in the same place.
I would have to also agree with Cap'n Chris. Ebbor Gorge does it for me too.

Isn't nature wonderful. If they're not at Westhay they might be at Shapwick or Ham Wall or Catcott Lows or at an impromptu hippy festival in Glastonbury.
gus horsley said:Huh? Dunno what happened there. I was probably distracted by the thought of 3 million turkeys wheeling through the sky and then landing heavily in the reedbeds.
