Flex VS Rubber

Hi,

Soon to replace my hoses.

As the title suggests, Rubber of Flex. I know next to nothing of the flex ones, so opinions and experience on the matter would be grande.

I use Miflex hoses on all my regs as well as on my rebreather. They've had a bad reputation over the years, but I've used them for 5+ years and have had absolutely no issues. I find them more hardwearing than standard rubber hoses and much more flexible, however they are quite expensive.

If going for Miflex I believe you need to be wary of inferior copies - these are (apparently) the ones that might degrade internally.

I use miflex on everything.

Over 16 regs and three rebreathers.

Sometimes they wear out, from the outside, not inside.

This is easy to spot.

I?ve never had or seen one go bang.

I?ve been there for three rubber hoses going bang in the last few years.

Take from that what you will.

Well, it looks as though I'll be making an order for a load of miflex hoses soon then.

Without trying to be stingy, as I'm happy to pay what they are worth. Any suggestions on a good retailer, the genuine hoses at a fair price?
