Flickering custom duo

Got an oldish model custom duo which replaces the halogen in my petzl duo. Unfortunately it seems to have developed a flicker when in use. I originally thought it was old batteries that were causing it buti have changed those and its still doing it. I have rmoved it and cleaned all contacts and checked joints and all seems ok.
Any suggestions? Is the company ok on returning for repair/fettle/telling me its buggered.

have you checked the custom duo out in another duo, is more likely cable issues or corrosion issues in battery box

I have issues with this when the contacts in the battery case for the battery get "smushed". If you look they can get pushed down and then walking/bouncing breaks the connection. Try prying them all up so the batteries fit in snugly and see if that fixes it. It has both times it's done it to me! I think after a few good knocks the weight of the battery compresses those and so then the contact is skippy.

If it is the battery contacts getting "smushed" (to use Amy's phrase) then this will happen again and again. Try cutting a small bit of pencil eraser and putting it behind the smushed terminals to restore the springiness.

That's a brilliant solution. My duo is packed for the flight but might have to do that later.

I know you said you had tried new batteries, but as a general piece of advice don't forget to keep the batteries' terminals clean as well. Mine do slowly pick up a bit of crud after several recharges.
