found a new cave on portland

ive found a new cave on the north of portland recently, not mentioned in the wessex book and it doesnt look like people have been down it before, no footprints or litter, its a rift cave (suprise suprise) the only bit ive gotten to so far is still in the daylight zone, some 10 meters from the entrance where the cave seems to continue under a wall of rock that would require some clearing of floor rubble to widen this little crawl, from what i can see the rift continues beyond this point, overall the rift looks quite old and loose,  me and some friends are going to have a look when they next come down to the island, hopefuly this could turn out to be a system as good as grove cliffs or windy. now what should we call it?  :-\

Interesting, do you have a grid reference?
Any soluational features visible like if it intersects small tubes for example?

i didnt see any solutional features as of yet, ive only been in the entrance series which ends in a squeeze which i havn't decided to pass as of yet as it needs clearing of rubble a bit to make it larger. beyond this may have solutional features or it may end in a dead end making this cave small and boring but we will have to wait and see i am planning a trip with some friends to hopefully do a bit of digging and pass it. the grid reference is SY 69305 73894 its difficult to get to as it as the base of a cliff with a very steep bramble infested slope to your left at all times, ive fallen over and cut myself quite a few times. its a rift cave so i think the chance on their being any tubes phraetic or otherwise is unlikely. as for the name WALKERS RIFT is the name i have settled on. for two reasons its a hike to get there and walker is my last name.
