Found - Half a rope

FFS. Alex tried to do someone a favour, and it's degenerated to this mindless crap. You people have far too much time on your hands. How can a simple "lost and found" post turn into an argument about grammar and spelling?

Alex, I can only guess at your frustration for this topic, and bet it's got you thinking twice about ever posting again. Please do post because you write some informative posts, most of them actually caving related.

Oh come on. None of it was meant offensively. It was all in jest. If this makes this forum the most 'avoidable underground themed website' then I shall be here on my own cos I like the banter and the good naturedness.

It is easy to misread things and add the wrong inflection, but I am sure nothing was meant that way.

Bob; This sort of banter and thread drift is just how internet forums work. If the moderators edited or deleted every post that drifted off topic, this really would be a very boring place - and the moderators wouldn't have time to do it anyway.

Perhaps this thread has had it's day though, time to move on.

Keep up the good work, Alex. Don't take the replies too seriously.

Come on everyone, if you want to make this place great, get posting your trip reports, news etc. You could even include a few photos, but not too many ;-)

Welcome to the Internet, Bob. ;)

Every caver conversation I've ever experienced in the pub tends to ramble, drift and descend into silly humour - this is just the same. No offence meant, just a daft sense of humour.

It is the same but not the same... Certain flavours of humour come across differently on a forum, which can, sometimes, quite easily lead to it being taken the wrong way. People can't see your face when you comment and a smiley doesn't always convey the true meaning (and some people actually have them blocked.)
