Time for that biannual thread begging for details of which entrances have been rigged, if any BPC members would be kind enough to tell as the ropes go in?

Thanks in advance

**Reward offered”

The Craven Pothole Club mascot dog (Brian Craven) has been kidnapped by persons unknown. According to Facebook, ( where he has his own profile ), we believe members of the Bradford Pothole Club could be responsible.

A reward of lifetime membership to the UK’s premier caving club is available to anyone providing information to the successful arrest and prosecution of these heartless individuals.
Search for “Brian Craven” on FB or see pictures below for details.
All help really appreciated 😂😂

Apparently he is looking forward to some climbing and canoeing trips after GG.

He yas also been listening to divers talk and he thinks a bit of scuba could be fun

As someone who’s not gone during the winch meet in terms of exchanges going out using the winch is it just a case of showing up at the base of gaping gill and getting the next winch up or do we need to let anyone know before hand of the trip?

Also do we need to pay to use the winch up?

If you are not a member, it's £20 to use the winch. You must have bought a tag in advance. When you buy a tag, you leave your details with the bookkeeper. If you are doing a through trip, not involving the winch, there is a whiteboard where you leave your details and call-out time. Make sure to return your tag / erase your entry when you are out.

See the "visiting cavers" section on the BPC website

Thanks to the BPC for rigging the winch meet as ever :)

One thing I noticed on a trip down GG during the winch meet - the BPC had, as usual, rigged the traverse across SE Pot i.e. heading from Bar Pot, down the slop to where the last rope from Flood Entrance drops in, and then up the slightly dodgy slope on the other side of the pot. I am always grateful when that rope is there as it saves me doing the crawl...

Unlike in previous years, however, the rope was rigged on a line of shiny new IC anchors. I'm not sure how long those have been there. Does anybody know how long a rope you need/how many carabiners (it's not on the April 2024 Bar Pot/Small Mammal/Flood Entrance topo).

Hi Andrew

30-35m plus 8 crabs should suffice. I will look to at least getting a note of it on the topo.

Cheers

8 bolts? seems a lot, do they have a shelf life?
I think we should add to the bolting protocol that if you had to hand drill them rather than use a battery drill, what would you put in ;-)
