Agreed, Hell Gill's a brilliant place (and suitable for children if adequately supervised and equipped):

There's a bit of loose rock to be wary of. A rope will be needed to descend the 20 ft pitch.

Do you need to go in wet weather to ensure a sporting descent? Doesn't the Beck up there dry up in normal conditions? I'd be interested in a trip up there!

Tolkienesque even. That?s Lady Annes Way passing overhead, a 100 mile route across the Dales.

Definitely done Gastack Beck down and up. Nice.
Try Crooke Gill and Strans Gill over in Langstrothdale/Wharfedale as well as the other recommendations above. All easy if you don?t mind getting wet or falling over a bit on the slime.
The River Dee from The Popples and Tub Hole via Hell?s Cauldron to the top of the Hackergill Gorge and on to Ibbeth Peril is also a nice riverbed walk interspersed with some short scrambles in picturesque surroundings. Can be done either way round or there and back.
You could reopen Flood Cavern and dive the impressive undived downstream sump found in 1997 while you?re there.

Good choices above.  Other interesting gill scrambles if you stick to the water I think are.

Swinner Gill
East Stone Gill
Penyghent Gill
Buck den Gill
Stainforth beck up to catrigg force
Ling Gill
Barkin beck
Short Gill.  I couldn?t free climb main fall
Buck beck.  I couldn?t free climb main fall
Arten Gill.  After the big fall which can be free climbed to the right, there is a nice little roofless cave about 100 m higher up.

Add to that list Caldbergh Gill in Coverdale which has some nice little waterfalls all free climbable and a few caves to poke your head into.

Ooops, I forgot to come back to this thread and say thanks for all the great suggestions! That should keep me busy for a while.
