Generational Caving

Occurred to me the other day that 4 generations of my family have been to the lake in Pridhamsleigh Cavern and 3 from those generations have dived in it. Any other 4th generation cavers out there before I write to the Guiness Book of Records!

Four generations of my family have been caving on Mendip, though my mother's generation never did more than a handful of trips.
Never had more than three generations underground at the same time though...

The terms and conditions are not clear.

Does it need to be all at the same time, or will any caving by a grandfather in the past allow a 3 generation claim? And does that have to be the same cave (in which case my son and I better get down p8).

(Not that we can compete with the astonishing 4 generations of the mrodocs or Hall clans!)

I don't think we managed all four generations underground at the same time as I had no grandchildren when my father was alive so perhaps somebody else can up with them all there at the same time. We had on trip with grand dad, grand ma and all four grandchildren but that was a short foray. I have got my entire family into one photo in a guide book but not grandchildren. You can see them in one of the older MU's

i met a chap last summer from Ashburton whose grandfather was Eric Hensler. However he hadn't followed in his footsteps.

Can I count as 3 generations? Used to take my children and their friends, and I took my Dad to Yordas and Old Ing when he was in his mid 80s.

I'm a second generation caver and my teenagers seem keen on doing a bit, so that makes three generations here.
